I attended the Vedanta Retreat curated by Neema Majmudar at Ahilya Fort last week, and it was truly a deeply enriching and grounding experience.
Set against the quiet grace of the fort and the gentle presence of the Narmada, the retreat offered the rare gift of slowing down—of listening inward, reflecting, and reconnecting with what truly matters. Neema’s guidance was thoughtful, calm, and rooted in lived wisdom. She has a beautiful way of making Vedanta feel accessible, relevant, and gently transformative, without being heavy or prescriptive.
The pace of the retreat was just right—allowing space for contemplation, meaningful conversations, silence, and shared learning. The setting itself added a timeless quality to the experience; Ahilya Fort’s understated elegance and warmth made it feel less like a venue and more like a sanctuary.
I walked away feeling lighter, clearer, and quietly inspired—carrying insights that continue to stay with me beyond the retreat. Grateful for the care, intention, and depth with which this experience was curated. Highly recommended for anyone seeking clarity, stillness, and a deeper connection with themselves.
A wonderful experience by the Narmada! I came with a lot of curiosity and went back with understanding of the rich wisdom contained in the ancient Indian scriptures and a few new friends.
It was amazing to see how our scriptures contain knowledge and wisdom which is complex, multilayered and very simple and practical at the same time.
This connection between complexity and simplicity can only be revealed through a teacher. Neema- you were that wonderful teacher in this retreat. Thank you for your ‘Vidyadaan’.
Also unforgettable were the meditation sessions in the Baneshwar temple, in the middle of the river and the divine, misty sunrise during these sessions.
Great energy in the group and I hope some of these connections will carry on.
